Virgin Mobile Music Festival tomorrow!

Beto and I just arrived in Philadelphia a few hours ago, Michael Prince came to pick us up from the airport.  It is good to be home.  We are about to leave for the the Virgin Mobile Music Festival.  Our friend Rondney is coming to pick us up at the house tomorrow at 7:00AM.  It is in Maryland, we will spend the tomorrow evening in a hotel, then I have work on Monday.  We are certainly keeping busy.

First the ring...

As we were leaving Austin, Beto picked up his sisters police belt and was playing with her equipment... as I sat down on the couch he slapped a pair of handcuffs on me and was about to attach the other cuff to himself for fun when his sister looked over and mentioned that she did not have the key on her.  Long story short, I spent part of the afternoon at his families house in  cuffs until an officer could come and unlock me.

Taco Cabana

At 2:00 AM Beto, his sister and I stopped at Taco Cabana.  We ordered from a large guy named Esco with one gold front tooth. He gave us an extra drink cup and Beto declared it Esco's tip cup and stuffed come dollars in it.  Taco Cabana was delicious.

It's official!

The second day in Austin I left for a long adventure driving across Texas with Beto's aunts and cousins.  We were gone much longer than Beto had expected. We arrived back at the house around 9:30 PM where Beto was waiting.  While the family was in the kitchen, with Beto's mother preparing dinner Beto proposed for a second time in front of his family.  His sister Bianca had helped him choose a ring while I was out for the day.

On the Road Again!

Said goodbye to Beto's father and stepmother and sister.  Back on the road again, my hair whips in the wind and Beto plays the drums on the steering wheel.  We have rented a car from Enterprise Car Rental.  We were thrilled to receive the same car that we enjoyed driving so much on our California trip, the Nissan Sentra.

Beto shared a Texas favorite with me when we stopped at the infamous Chicken Express, the place with great fried chicken and the BEST logo ever.

Party in Texas

Beto's parents threw a nice party with all a lot of his old high school friends.  Beto has been having regular jam sessions with his dad since we arrived.  They sound pretty good.

Texas

We arrived in Texas around 11 am. I have gotten to meet his father, sister and stepmom, and Sassy the cat and Magie the dog,  they are all very nice.   Beto's father is a professional artist.  They get along very well, it's nice to see Beto and his father together.  They haven't seen one another for three years.  It is good to get out of Philadelphia, to see beautiful green lawns, great blue open skies and clean streetscapes.

Last game of 2009

Beto played in the last softball game of 2009 for the Johny Brenda's softball team.  There will only be one more game to follow this one and it is the all star game, where the team nominates three players to go play on the all star team.

Juniata Course

Today after work, Beto and I went to Juniata golf course where he played 18 holes and I shot pictures of the course for my website and took turns driving the golf cart. We bumbled along in the cart drinking our beer and pointing out groundhogs having a delightful afternoon.

Making Pizza!

We made pizza together for dinner and it was delicious!  Beto tossed the pie crust like the best Italian pizza maker.

Beto's in New York

It is a beautiful clear, cool morning here in Philadelphia. Pandora is playing Billie Holiday. Beto has just left with Daylen for New York to meet with Moby to present and discuss some designs he has cooked up for promotion of the new album. Beto has spent the last few weeks sketching out designs for different promotional items such as tea kettles, apparel, and skateboards.

In doing a little research on the concept of the new album and the stylistic ideas and vision behind his website and album cover, I learned that Moby has a line of tea products connected with a cafe in New York, Teany which opened in 2002.  The line of bottled ice tea, Teany Tea can be found in many small stores around Philadelphia.

I'll spend the day working on my new website and searching out leads for work for the two of us.

It's arrived!

I have my new camera now. I am thrilled with it. This little object that came in the mail inspires me. I have begun to create a new website marketed towards hotel/resort, cuisine, travel destination and golf course photography.

Downtown Lunch

We took the afternoon and headed into my old part of town, the east side of downtown Philadelphia on the historic Antique Row.  We stopped into Mixto, a little restaurant serving Cuban, Columbian and Carribean cuisine.  We had mango and coconut margaritas.  I ordered a light ceviche entree and Beto ordered breaded island chicken and mashed potatoes.

The Great Wall

Beto and I have rearranged almost every room in the house at this point.  We have put a wall up between the bedroom and the office with the help of our friends.  We have cleaned out a little hear and there and taken things to the Circle Thrift.
