Hail!

Sunday Beto and I went for a great bike ride to Manayunk. We stopped for iced tea and nachos, took some pictures of the sky. We were hoping to make it back before the storm. On our way back we were stuck in a hail storm unlike anything I have ever seen. So much fun but also a little painful, frightening and cold.

Golf!

Lavinia, Beto and I went to the golf range. Clearly I need to practice my golf swing. This was my first time to the range though. Then brunch at Memphias Taproom, party and grilling at the house on Saturday.

Friday!

Fun time at lost last night taking Y-Rock’s Modern Rock Madness Bracket tournament for the top artist of modern rock (found in either the City Paper or Philadelphia Weekly) Bowie was our winner. http://www.xpn.org/images/yrock/pdfs/mrm2009grid.pdf.

Beto and I are getting back into playing music on a more regular basis now, which I love.

Lastly, I received my first audition rejection letter, really enjoyed the experience though.

First Audition!

Following up on a craigslist ad, I went to the fourth floor of the Walnut Street Theatre for my first audition. I was horribly under prepared but it was so much fun! I didn’t ace it but I got through it. After getting my picture taken and filling out the actor’s equivalent of an application, I picked up the scrip on the table that we were given to look over. We were called one by one to audition in front of a “panel” of three casting directors. The scrip was a funny rant about how sharp and durable a certain brand of knives is; something familiar to anyone whom has ever seen an info-mercial.

California Plans

Just 9 days ago, Beto and I were engaged, on a night full of fun, with a house full of dear friends.

Now, in less than two weeks, we will be traveling to sunny California together.

Our trip will begin with a flight out of Philadelphia on April 1st, landing in Portland. We will be renting a car and staying at the Jupiter Hotel for one night. From there, we will drive through the Redwood Forest, possibly spending one night there before we pick up on the third and drive to Napa Valley. I have to say this is one part of the trip that I am really looking forward to. We will spend two nights there, at the Beltane Ranch http://www.beltaneranch.com/ in Sanoma Valley, a short walk away from a biodynamic/organic winery. After two days of wine, rolling hills and picnics in the sun we will drive to San Francisco, where we will stay at the Opal Hotel. We will then drive through Big Sur and into Los Angeles, where we will be for several days. One the 11th, we will return the rental car and take a train down to San Diego. We will be in San Diego for two days before catching a return flight home to Philadelphia.
